It was my first business trip off the country during CNY and fell in 'Winter' time. Flew for 18hours acrossed the pacific ocean and started the journey of challenge of 30 days "mission". Having transit in LA and did a quick LA tour for half a day before heading to the Cactus state (welcoming by the middle-finger plant around the state).
Day begun with absent of my counterpart (out sick for week plus) that we suppose to layout plan/work toward this 30days mission. I was stucked and sense of 'helpless' for a moment but require a quick return to the real world as fas as I could. Day-to-day deliverables being tracked. Meeting-to-meeting being held. Worked across the foreseeable turbulence. The Asia team had shown the great demonstration of capabilities and disciplinary act to the corporate on the quality of work. On the 3rd week, the big day of demonstrating the good work of a 'working prototype' to the stakeholder from different supply chain functional. As room facilities not work as it expected, the Asia crew had done a remarkable "Wayang kulit" show thru the Cubicle connection and broadcast the sounds and image to the room. This is so call a live Hi-Tech simulation.
Despite...work, work, work but we do tried to have fun out of the hassle work schedule. Visited GC, LA , LV (refer to my previous post) and bought lot reasonable (looks cheap in local currency:P) stuff as appreciation of sacrifices of ownself and family:p
It has been a mixed of feeling travel along a big group that came from different background of religion, charactersitic, attitude and consideration. We may have silence 'complain' (may be not) among each other but for sure you got my apology if I do offence anyone along the journey but truely thanks for any help you had been offered explicitly or implicitly.
After all, everything seems goes smoothly and Thanks to my family, friends and colleague ! Btw, we do celebrated the 'Pearl Island GE2008 victory' in LV though! Y-a-h-o-o!
The closing of 30 days assignment it just signalizes a new challenge ahead to continue the mission back in home country. I hope, this is a good step stone for the country team to grab more opportunities in future on what the team can offer in today globalization challenge.
